Since organisations and groups generally take a summer break there will be very little news, information or happenings to report. So, this edition of the Sunday Bulletin is the final one for 2016/17 season. There will not be a bulletin during July and August

Next Sunday is the Feast of the Body and Blood of Christ, traditionally known as Corpus Christi. The side Chapel will be available from 3.00pm until 6.00pm for Adoration and personal prayer with the Lord in the Eucharist.
Annual Derry Diocesan Pilgrimage to Lough Derg
Led by Bishop Donal McKeown: Friday 23 June. Coach leaving from St Eugene's Cathedral, Derry, with pick-up points en route. The Pilgrimage Season begins on Monday 1st May Pope Francis has provided us with a wonderful gift - the World Meeting of Families 2018.. Lough Derg has an important part to play as we journey towards this momentous event. The forthcoming Pilgrimage Season offers the opportunity for many pilgrims to come to the sacred island in preparation for this world event.

The floors of the church porches had become very worn and tired looking after fifty two years of constant use. The recent laying of new tiles has brightened up the entrances and hopefully, will last the next fifty years! The work was done by the Floor Store, Lifford Road, Strabane.

The parish has received a letter of thanks and appreciation from Trocaire for our contribution of £7000 towards the Nepal Disaster Fund. We are guaranteed that our gift will be used in its entirety to help the earthquake victims.
Volunteering with Foyle Hospice
Foyle Hospice is committed to delivering a vital service to our patients suffering from cancer and life-limiting illnesses and supporting their families in the North West. We are appealing to people to join our team of bank volunteer drivers who are able to offer patients from their local area transport to and from the Hospice's Day Care Unit in Derry. The parish appreciates a further donation yowards Church Roof Repairs of £100. We thank the donors for their support. Every donation is greatly valued.
During the summer weeks, major repairs were carried out on the church roof and windows. Repairs to the roof cost £3164 and will propably be on-going since its repacement is fanancially impossible. Some of the upper windows were completely smashed and many were so seriously cracked that they had to be replaced . This damage was caused by vandalism. The window repairs cost £1056. While repairs to the church building are not very obvious, it is important tp preserve the fabric as best we can.

Sion Mills Parish is totally committed to implementing all aspects of the Diocese of Derry Safeguarding Children Policy Statement. Two parish representatives support this work: Peter McNulty, The Willows, Sion Mills; Trudy Doherty,Fyfin Road, Victoria Bridge.
The church car park is now lined out to provide an ordered system of parking. Two yellow-coloured bays beside beside the pedestrian ramp at the side door are only for the use of people with disabilities. For safety, legal and insurance reasons, including easy access for emergency vehicles, drivers must park only in the parking bay
Saint Theresa's Church is now monitored by CCTV, twenty four hours every day. The system fulfills all Data Protection requirements..
The Sacrament of Baptism will be celebrated on the first Sunday of each month at 11.45am. Parents should make arrangements soon after the birth of their child.

Parish Hall Events
Our parish hall is an immaculately kept building and can accomodate 550 people in the main hall as well as catering for up to 50 people in the meeting room. The local Luncheon Club and Meals on Wheels service for the elderly people in the local area operates from the hall which has a large modern kitchen and dining area. Many local groups use the hall for their activities including Indoor Bowls, Pipe Band, Irish Dancing classes, Ballroom Dancing classes, Karate classes, Line Dancing classes etc. The hall also caters for parish functions as well as concerts, meetings and other fundraising events.
